European Film Promotion (EFP) and Sydney Film Festival (7 - 18 June 2023) are delighted to welcome the participants of EUROPE! VOICES OF WOMEN IN FILM. In its eighth year of frutiful cooperation, the programme highlights 10 selected films by outstanding European women filmmakers.

Five of the ten featured female directors have already presented their films in person to Sydney Film Festival audiences, met representatives of Australian film institutions, producers and distributors. Earlier on Saturday, in a public talk with Sandy George from Screen International, these cutting-edge female filmmakers discussed their different approaches to filmmaking and how questions of identity and feminism informa their work.

Those female directors not travelling to Sydney such as Milena Aboyan  (Elaha), Malene Choi (The Quiet Migration),  Claire Dix (Sunlight), Carmen Jaquier (Thunder) and Tia Kouvo (Family Time) have already introduced their films in short introductory clips before the respective screenings.
