EFP (European Film Promotion) is delighted to be able to announce that 20 former EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS from 13 countries and 40 PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE alumni from 20 countries will be celebrating the premiere of their films in Cannes.

More than half of this year's Competition films feature producers and actors from the EFP programmes. Among others, the Finnish Shooting Star 2021, Seidi Haarla, is starring in the Competition film Compartment No 6 by Juho Kuosmanen. Seidi Haarla: "After being selected as a European Shooting Star and running through EFP's great promotion and networking programme from which I got so many contacts, it was so wonderful to meet my fellow Shooting Stars at the Berlinale Summer Special. And now I am so incredibly happy to be in Cannes and presenting Compartment No 6 together with the fantastic film team." Compartment No 6 is produced by Jussi Rantamäki, the Finnish Producer on the Move in 2013 and co-produced by Riina Sildos, Producer on the Move from Estonia in 2007.

Maria Ekerhovd, the Norwegian Producer on the Move in 2011, is the lead producer on the Un Certain Regard entry The Innocents by Eskil Vogt together with five other Producers on the Move from different years. Four of them met for the first time during the programme: Eva Jakobsen (Denmark) and Mark Lwoff (Finland) in 2014 and Mikkel Jersin (Denmark) and Misha Jaari (Finland) in 2016 joined by Lizette Jonjic (Sweden 2010). Undeniable proof of the great power and impact of the EFP programmes on the creation of working collaborations between European producers. "It is great to see how our programmes are bearing fruits over the years, and with how much intuition the national film promotion institutes – our member organisations – spot really outstanding acting and producing talent and nominate them for the programmes. We are delighted to raise the profile of these outstanding film professionals through targeted promotional and networking activities for the industry, the public and the press", says EFP's Managing Director Sonja Heinen.
