Berlin, 24 February 2020: Tonight the EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS 2020 were welcomed to the Berlinale Palast stage by host, Alexander Fehling – German Shooting Stars in 2011 – and presented with the EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS Award. The prominent talent programme, which is celebrating its 23rd edition, is financially supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating national film institutes, EFP's member organisations and the German and Chinese Culture Foundation.
EFP (European Film Promotion) and its supporters are delighted to once again bring the EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS programme to Berlin International Film Festival. Tonight's ceremony was held in the presence of Festival Directors Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian as well as Monika Grütters, German Minister of the State for Culture and the Media and a number of Europe's cultural ministers.
The European Shooting Stars 2020 are supported by their national film institutes, EFP's member organisations: Bulgarian National Film Center, Danish Film Institute, Estonian Film Institute, Georgian National Film Center, German Films, Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual I.P. / ICA (Portugal), Polish Film Institute, SEE NL (The Netherlands), SWISS FILMS and UniFrance.
