UniFrance was created in January 1949 with the aim of promoting French cinema abroad. Today, more than 1000 industry professionals and talents are members of UniFrance and, together, they work to increase the distribution of French films on the international market.
UniFrance participates in approximately 60 international festivals annually. At these events it organises the presence of French films as well as the activities of French artists. In addition, UniFrance also takes part in film markets where it provides promotional and exhibition space for French industry professionals.
UniFrance supports the commercial distribution of French films in many markets outside France, helping French sales companies and foreign distributors to enhance the visibility of French films. UniFrance also holds events devoted to French cinema, where are combined, in one and the same space and over a limited time, the three fundamental objectives of promotion: action with regard to buyers, media, and the public.
UniFrance launched the first French Film Festival on-line: MyFrenchFilmFestival - www.myfrenchfilmfestival.com/en/.
Unifrance is one of the 10 founding members of EFP.
