Summary

In the newly founded East Germany, a class of students in their final year decides, as a spontaneous reaction to the news about the uprising in Hungary, to hold a minute's silence to honor the victims. But what was intended as a simple act of solidarity has more repercussions then expected. The pupils become entangled in the East German political machinery and soon realize that their freedom is at risk.
