Biography

Jasmine Trinca was born in Rome. While still at high school, she was selected by Nanni Moretti to play the role of his daughter in LA STANZA DEL FIGLIO, which went on to win the Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2001. For her compelling performance in this film, Jasmine was awarded the Silver Ribbon Biraghi Award, the Italian Golden Globe and Ciak D'Oro.In 2003 she was cast in the role of a young schizophrenic in MarcoTullio Giordana's, THE BEST OF YOUTH (winner, Un Certain Regard), which brought her yet another triumph in Cannes, the "Silver Ribbon" in recognition of her acting performance. In 2004 she was cast in the successful comedy MANUALE D'AMORE by Giovanni Veronesi and in 2005, under the direction of Michele Placido, she played a role in ROMANZO CRIMINALE, which premiered in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2006.That same year, Nanni Moretti again chose her to play one of the leading roles in IL CAIMANO, which was in competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2006. On this occasion, she received the Chopard Trophy-Female Revelation. For her film performances, she went on to receive 3 David di Donatello nominations.
