"European Distributors: Up Next!" continue discussions at the Sofia Meetings
Follow-up for programme launched by EFP and San Sebastian Film Festival
European Film Promotion (EFP) launched its new programme “European Distributors: Up Next!” in cooperation with the San Sebastian International Film Festival in September 2008 to support ambitious distributors with the aim of increasing the wider distribution of non-domestic European films in Europe. All the ten selected distributors of this programme represent Eastern and Central Europe countries and have been invited to follow-up discussions at the Sofia Meetings (March 12 – 15) which will take place in the framework of the Sofia International Film Festival in Bulgaria. The initiator of this reunion is festival director Stefan Kitanov who was also one of the San Sebastian participants.The meetings in Sofia will offer the possibility of continuing the discussions on further possibilities of theatrical distribution on a European level and taking part in various working sessions with sales agents, producers and other distributors. “European Distributor: Up Next!” is supported by the MEDIA Programme of the EU and will be continued at this year’s festival in San Sebastian.
