Tomás Cimadevilla

Background:

Born in Madrid in 1968, Tomás Cimadevilla studied Journalism and began his career as an acquisitions and programming executive for the cinema channels at Canal Satélite Digital and Canal Plus Spain.
In 1996, he started up his own company Trastorno Films with which he produced three films: Enrique Gabriel's EN LA PUTA CALLE (1997) and LAS HUELLAS BORRADAS (1998) and Santiago Lorenzo's MAMÁ ES BOBA (1998).

In 1999, he created a new company Telespan 2000 which has generated three of the greatest Spanish box-office and critical successes of the past few years. Emilio Martinez-Lázaro's THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BED is Spain's fifth highest grossing film of all time and has been sold internationally by Lions Gate. Pablo Berger's TORREMOLINOS 73, coproduced with the Danish company Nimbus Film, has picked up more than fifteen awards in Spain and abroad, while David Serrano's FOOTBALL DAYS is the seventh highest grossing Spanish film.

Tomás has three projects scheduled for release in 2005: Chus Gutiérrez's EL CALENTITO, Lola Guerrero's THE CRIME OF A BRIDE and Emilio Martinez-Lázaro's THE 2 SIDES OF THE BED, the sequel to THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BED.

The feature documentary THE CRIME OF A BRIDE, together with the production of a weekly sitcom for Telecinco, mark Telespan's current expansion into new areas of production. In addition to all his work as a producer, Tomás has owned an independent film theatre in Madrid and written screenplays for feature films and television series.
