Background: Leontine Petit graduated in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam before co-founding the production company Lemming Film with Joost de Vries and screenwriter Marco van Geffen in 1995. As Head of Production, she is in charge of development and financing and has helped to make Lemming Film into one of the leading film and television production companies based in Amsterdam, with a proven track record in delivering quality commercial film and television productions aimed at the children's, teen and family market. Lemming Film initiates and nurtures close collaborations with the most exciting screenwriters, directors and acting talent as well as being a key player in international co-productions from continental Europe, to Africa, South America and Georgia. With a clear eye on both their national and international market, Lemming Film is participating in the new challenges of film and tv distribution as well as the possibilities of multimedia. Leontine's recent productions included the international co-production KHADAK, which won the Lion of the Future at the Venice Film Festival, and the Dutch box office hit SCHNITZEL PARADISE, a comedy selected for the Berlinale's 14plus section 2006 and sold to more than 15 countries. Leontine is a member of the ACE network. Between 1995 and 1998, she was television programmer at the Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam and served as an advisor for youth features to the Dutch Film Fund from 1998 to 2002. At the moment she is a member of the board of the Binger Filmlab and advisor for the film committee of the Dutch Council of Culture and the Amsterdam Council of Culture. At the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival her production EEP! (directed by Ellen Smit) can be seen in the Generation KPlus section.
