Producers on the Move 2008

Background A graduate in Journalism and Law, Oana Giurgiu has extensive experience as a producer of television programmes, music videos and events as well as organising the Transilvania International Film Festival. She was cinematographer on the award-winning documentary DOINA SI NICOLO and directed the documentary PINZA DE PAIANJEN in 1997. In 2004, she was location manager on Cristi Puiu's Cannes-award winner THE DEATH OF MR. LAZARESCU and produced Tudor Giurgiu's feature debut LOVE SICK which was a box-office success in Romania in 2006. Oana was the Romanian producer on behalf of Libra Film for the Hungarian-German co-production DELTA by Kornél Mundruczó, which received the FIPRESCI award in Cannes 2008. Oana has also served as associate producer for another Romanian debut feature, the Romanian-Finnish co-production CROSS DATES by Anca Damian, which had its world premiere in 2008 in Pusan, and was then presented at the Chicago and the Goteborg IFF. Most recently she is in post-prodcution with THE KINO CARAVAN by Titus Muntean, again a co-production with a German production company, Filmkombinat.
