Background After studying Directing at the ARTTS International in the UK, Law in Madrid and Film Studies at different private schools in Spain, Manuel Cristóbal worked as the coordinator for the Media Business School, the manager of the Galician Producer Association AGAPI, and as a producer of several shorts shot in 35mm. He served as the executive producer of several CGI-animated feature films at Dygra Films from 1999 to 2005 with responsibility for development, financing, marketing, distribution, and business affairs. With Dygra Films he produced THE LIVING FOREST and MIDSUMMER DREAM, which was the first CGI film in Europe. In 2005, he joined Zinkia as head of development and distribution working on the animation series "Pocoyo" (52x11) and "Shuriken School" (26x26). In September 2006, he created the Galicia-based Spanish company Perro Verde Films whose credits include the animated feature GOING NUTS, the features SPLEEN with Luis Tosar and Nora Tschirner, and LOS MUERTOS VAN DEPRISA, and the CGI feature film MISSING LYNX, co-produced with Kandor Graphics and Antonio Banderas, which recently won the Goya award for "Best Animated Film" in 2008. He is now developing the feature FISH OF BITTERNESS, based on the acclaimed novel by Fernando Aramburu. Perro Verde Films is a partner in the Madrid-based sales agent 6 Sales specialising in animation features, and owns the production house Tigernut, based in Murcia. Manuel is also a consultant in new technologies, and has worked for Uruguay, Xunta de Galicia, and the Regional Government of Murcia. Manuel is Vicepresident of New Technologies and Member of the Board in FAPAE (Federation of Spanish Audiovisual Producers), Secretary of the Board in CARTOON (European Association of Animation Producers), Vicepresident of AEPA (Spanish Association of Animation Producers), Member of the EFA (European Film Academy) and the Spanish Film Academy, founding member of the Academia Galega do Audiovisual and lecturer in the MPXA (Master in Audiovisual Management and Production) at La Coruña University since 1999.
