Background Marc-Antoine Robert and Xavier Rigault founded 2.4.7.Films in 2004, drawing on extensive experience in the cinema industry. The first production of 2.4.7. Films was the animated feature film PERSEPOLIS by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, which won the Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two Césars (for "Best First Film" and "Best Adaptation"). It was also nominated in the "Best Animated Feature" category for the 2008 Academy Awards®. This was followed by Denys Granier-Deferre's WEDDING CAKE and Fabrice Gobert's LIGHTS OUT which premiered in Un Certain Regard 2009. The company has projects in development with Olivier Abbou, Yann Samuell, Pierre Jolivet, and Denys Granier-Deferre, among others. In 2008, 2.4.7. Films received the prize for "Best Young Production Company" from the Institute for the Financing of Cinema and Cultural Industries.
