Background Sigrid Hoerner hails from Cologne and initially worked on short magazine features for television and in the theatre before coming to Berlin to study Film at the Free University. At the beginning of 1996, she met Anne Leppin on a production where they were both working as location managers. Two years later, they joined forces with director Martin Walz to found Berlin-based moneypenny filmproduktion which has made its mark in the German production scene as a supporter of interesting new talents. The company's first production, the psychological drama UNKNOWN FRIEND by Anne Hoegh Krohn, was followed by Martin Eigler's TRUST ME, starring Benno Fürmann, Christiane Paul and Erdal Yildiz. moneypenny's collaboration with Irish-born dffb graduate Eoin Moore began with them handling the shoot of his episode WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD? for Regina Ziegler's Erotic Tales omnibus. In 2001, they then produced his DV-shot feature PIGS WILL FLY in Berlin and San Francisco via the joint venture Workshop GbR and were reunited for his latest project NO SWEAT. The company moved into the field of international co-production with Hannes Stöhr's second feature film ONE DAY IN EUROPE and last year produced Nicolai Rohde's 10 SECONDS. In 2001, Sigrid and Anne received the Producers Award at the Cologne Conference. Sigrid is a member of the German Film Academy and has been a member of the ACE Producer's Network since 2006. The duo is currently developing new feature projects by Eoin Moore, Isabelle Stever, Sophie Schoukens, Nicolai Rohde, Sönke L. Neuwöhner, Martin Eigler, Edward Berger, Benjamin Wolff and Jane Ainscough.
