Biography Martin Vandas studied film and television production at the FAMU school in Prague from 1996-2000 and served as the executive producer and co-producer of FIMFÁRUM BY JAN WERICH, the first Czech animation feature film by Aurel Klimt and Vlasta Pospisilova in theatrical distribution. He also worked as an executive producer for TV magazine programmes as well as such TV documentaries as THE SWITCHMAN, THE COMEDY and THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE BANKER PREISS. In 2003, Martin established the production company MAUR Film with the director and designer Aurel Klimt with a focus on the production of animated films. Aurel and Martin had worked together on the successful feature-length animated film FIMFÁRUM BY JAN WERICH (2002) and then followed this with a sequel which was released in 2006. FIMFÁRUM 2 was shown in the Berlinale's Generation Kplus competition this year, won the main prize at Anifest Film Festival and was successfully presented at more than 50 world film festivals. At 2007 he produced the film ONE NIGHT IN A CITY by Jan Balej which was very successful during festivals over the whole world (Golden Real Tiburon USA, Monstra, Lisbon, Portugal, Golden Crystal Globe Tehran, Iran, Grand Prix Athens, Greece etc.) Among other projects, Martin is developing the cartoon comedy about the football family THE UNCLE'S 11 and a new feature-length puppet movie based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale „The Little Mermaid".
