Background: Piotr Dzieciol graduated in Law from the University of Wroclaw and also studied in the Film Production Faculty at the world-famous Lodz Film School. He is the owner of Lodz-based Opus Film, one of the leading production houses in Poland, which was established in 1993 and has produced feature films, TV dramas, documentaries and commercials. The company produced Piotr Trzaskalski's feature debut EDI which won five awards at the 2002 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and the Grand Prix at that year's Warsaw International Film Festival as well as three awards - the Ecumenical Jury Prize, FIPRESCI Prize and Don Quixote Prize of the International Federation of Film Societies - when it was shown in the Berlinale's International Forum in 2003. Piotr worked again in 2005 with Trzaskalski on his second feature THE MASTER, starring the Russian actor Konstantin Lavrenenko (The Return) and co-produced by a previous "Producer On The Move" Peter Rommel from Germany. This drama had its premiere in the Zabaltegi section of the 2005 San Sebastian International Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI Prize at this year's Miami International Film Festival. Opus Film was also a production partner in the Luxembourg-Polish co-production of Franco de Pena's YOUR NAME IS JUSTINE which was shot in Poland, Berlin and Luxembourg. The drama won the Mayor of the City of Gdynia Award for the Best Debuting Actor for lead actress Anna Cieslak at last year's Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and also Best Artistic Contribution Award for the DOP in Montreal.
