European women film artists and producers attending the Sydney Film Festival this year (from left to right) Nadezhda Gorshkova, Hope Dickson Leach, Rusudan Glurjidze, Teona Strugar Mitevska, Rachel Braunschweig and Shahrbanoo Sadat were welcomed by Australian producer legend Jan Chapman (THE PIANO, in the centre) - ambassador for EUROPE! VOICES OF WOMEN IN FILM

For the second time EFP (European Film Promotion) together with the Sydney Film Festival present EUROPE! VOICES OF WOMEN IN FILM, a programme designed to stress the importance of gender equality and diversity in the film industry by presenting ten outstanding women directors from Europe. To show her strong support for the initiative renowned Australian producer Jan Chapman (THE PIANO) joined the filmmakers. The four day event included a public talk on gender issues and also featured "Raising Films" a get-together about making films, making families and making a difference. Founded by one of the filmmakers Hope Dickson Leach the initiative fights the barriers that parents and carers face in the film industry.
