European Film Promotion is screening six films from Europe to US buyers and industry professionals in New York City at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on 25th and 26th June. Seeking US distribution for their films, the respective sales representatives from Rezo Films, Urban Distribution, WIDE, Dreamcatchers/Six Sales, Sola Media and EastWest Filmdistribution are in attendance. The NY Industry Screenings, meanwhile in the eighth year, are again backed by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.

The strong line-up includes Blancanieves by Pablo Berger, starring famous actress Ángela Molina and The Woman Who Brushed Off Her Tears by Teona Strugar Mitveska with acclaimed Victoria Abril. A wide variety of genres is being screened to the buyers in New York. A gothic movie, a historical drama, an animated documentary as well as an animated children’s film are on offer amongst others this year which are going to attract arthouse viewers and mainstream audiences.

EFP's special screenings are a further step to assist European films on the US market. 36 percent of the European films which were screened between 2007 and 2011 found distribution in the US, one of the most competitive markets in the world.
