A young girl, Eve, arrives in a village in Burgundy, where she has applied for a job delivering bread for a bakery. . But as she travels through the countryside each day the people and landscape around her seem to take on a symbolic significance that becomes overwhelming. Slowly it becomes apparent that she has come to the region not because of the job but to find her lover She spies on a married man with a small child. Each time Eve meets him, we get a bit closer to the truth.
