A mailman who loves opera, Jules, secretly records Cynthia Hawkins' voice during a concert. As a result, she refuses to record any further records, and so an Asian duo tries to steal the tape. Meanwhile, a prostitute comes to own a tape involving a police marshal and things get complicated.
This is Jean-Jacque Beineix's first feature film, which started a new kind of aesthetic through artificial sets and use of color.
