Summary

DRIVING SCHOOL is a drama which portrays a relationship between two people: the Driving Instructor and a Woman Candidate, Lija taking driving lessons. It is a profound minimalist study of the relationship between a man and a woman in contemporary society. The story covers the period of time between the moment the Driving Instructor and the Woman Candidate first meet and the moment when the Woman Candidate fails her driving test for the first time. The flow of the story finds its pattern in the sequence of driving lessons as preparation for a driving test. One scene - one lesson. This seeming outer dryness will be the framework of the inner "story" of the film: the characters gradually grow closer, start opening up to each other and closing again once they find out they have gone too far with their sincerity, but that does not end their process of opening up.
