After a successful launch in 2010, the feature film networking and
co-production program PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO (PLT) takes place again during the Toronto International Film Festival® in 2012.
Created by European Film Promotion (EFP) in collaboration with the Ontario Media Development Corporation
(OMDC) and the Toronto International Film Festival® (TIFF),
the platform encourages European and Canadian producers to partner on
film projects with a high artistic, as well as commercial, value.
EFP arranges a programme for 12 European and 12 Canadian producers to
meet and exchange projects, ideas and knowledge with the aim of
increasing the number of concrete co-productions.
EFP brings European producers to Toronto, selected out of the Producers on the Move participants. The Canadian producers are selected by OMDC and TIFF. All participants must have a track record of successful project development and production, experienced in international co-production, and concrete interest in collaborations between Europe and Canada. The objective is to enhance the competitiveness of European films on the Canadian market and the competitiveness of Canadian films in Europe.
Activities are made possible with the support of the EU's
MEDIA Mundus programme and the member organisations of EFP. In addition, PRODUCERS
LAB TORONTO is supported by the Ontario Media Development Corporation
(OMDC), the Toronto
International Film Festival (TIFF) and Telefilm Canada.
