Shooting Stars
at the NAT Film Festival Copenhagen
In Februay 2003, during the Berlin International Film Festival, European Film Promotion (EFP) celebrated the sixth anniversary of "Shooting Stars". Over the past years, EFP has introduced close to 100 of Europe's most talented up-and-coming young actors and actresses to the industry, press and public under the "Shooting Stars" umbrella. Indeed, many of the young actors and actresses who have participated in this programme have surpassed their national fame, and gone on to greater acclaim and recognition on the international stage.
EFP is proud to expand the spotlight on a number of these talented "stars of tomorrow", with the debut of the Shooting Stars Touring Film Programme at the NAT Film Festival in Copenhagen. Only one month after Berlin, the initiative brings a selected group of "Shooting Stars" and their films to this Nordic event and will present the actors and actresses on stage of the festival cinema during the opening night ceremony, as well as feature several other events in their honour. This premiere in Copenhagen will be the kick-off event of the 2003 Shooting Stars Touring Film Programme which will bring selected groups of Shooting Stars to several other international film festivals throughout the year.
With the initiative of the Touring Programme, EFP seeks to broaden the international network for the actors and actresses, and thereby assist them in the development of their future careers.
We would like to extend our thanks to the administrative and creative team at the NAT Film Festival, in particular to Programme Director, Kim Foss, for their support.
The initiative is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
