European Distributors: Up Next!

This initiative which EFP started in 2008 is focussing on dynamic distributors in Europe. EFP is partnering with the Sales Office of the San Sebastian International Film Festival to foster the wider trans-national distribution of European films.

In close co-operation between the festival and the EFP member organisations, 10 new and dynamic European distributors are selected to participate in the programme during the festival in San Sebastian.

Variety is the media partner for European Distributors: Up Next!, highlighting the 10 distributors with spotlights in its magazine.

Activities

EFP activities include:

• The selection of 10 new and dynamic European distributors supporting independent European cinema, and to create a unique “Distributors Spotlight” around them, all within the framework of the San Sebastian International Film Festival
• Press and industry event featuring the ten European distributors
• A collaboration with Variety Magazine profiling the invited distributors, detailing their contribution to independent cinema;
• Organising discussions, seminars and networking opportunities among distributors, sales agents and producers during the festival under the umbrella of the festival’s Sales Office
• Interviews with the 10 distributors published at the online magazine Cineuropa.
