SHOOTING STARS
AT THE BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

February 09 - 19, 2012

2011 marked the 14th Anniversary of the SHOOTING STARS initiative during the festival, introducing Europe's latest wave of acting talent to the press, industry and public in a series of high-profile events. Highlights are the presentation of the SHOOTING STARS Awards at the Berlinale Palast, a high-profile Press Conference, a meeting with Casting Directors and a Gala Reception. Between 1998 and 2011, EFP has introduced a total of 233 "new faces" in Berlin.

EFP AT THE HONG KONG FILMART
March 19 - 22, 2012

In March 2011, for the first time, EFP provided support services under a European umbrella booth at the FILMART in Hong Kong. EFP members and European sales agents had the opportunity to use the booth as a service base for their meetings at this important film market in Asia.
This initiative is part of EFP's Film Sales Support, which provides financial support to European sales agents attending the market.

PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE
AT THE CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

May 16 - 27, 2012

Through EFP's initiative, Producers on the Move, which annually presents selected producers to the international press and industry in Cannes, 243 young creative producers have received support, guidance and increased visibility as of 2000.

VARIETY'S TEN EUROPEAN DIRECTORS TO WATCH
AT THE KARLOVY VARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

June 29 - July 7, 2012

Presence in Eastern Europe and joint activities with the American trade paper Variety: Variety selects 10 films by young European directors for Variety's Ten European Directors To Watch, a special sidebar in the festival. EFP has been a partner since 2001 and presents the directors to the local press and festival audiences.

EFP AT THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
September 06 - 16, 2012

As a platform for European films, and as a gateway for product to the US market, Toronto remains a vital, extremely important festival in the international arena. The members of EFP have a unique opportunity to effectively promote their films in this extremely important event by using information stands in the Sales and Industry Office. The festival is also a partner for Film Sales Support.

PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO
September 05 - 08, 2012

After a successful launch in 2010, the feature film networking and co-production program PRODUCERS LAB TORONTO (PLT) is scheduled to be held again during the Toronto International Film Festival®. Created by European Film Promotion (EFP) in collaboration with the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) and the Toronto International Film Festival® (TIFF), the platform encourages European and Canadian producers to partner on film projects with a high artistic, as well as commercial, value.

EUROPEAN PRESENCE
AT THE BUSAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

October 2012

Directors and actors from Europe introduce their new films at one of the most important Asian film festivals. The event proved to be one of the most energetic film festivals  in Asia. With the launch of the Asian Film Market in 2006, Busan takes on a new and expanded role in the region – and for the industry in general. In addition to the festival activities, EFP runs an office for European sales agents at the Asian Film Market. The festival is also a partner for Fim Sales Support.

UMBRELLA OFFICE AT THE AMERICAN FILM MARKET
October 31 - November 7, 2012

Since 1998, EFP has run an umbrella office for European sales agents and producers at this major US market.

INDUSTRY SCREENINGS IN THE USA
June and November 2012

EFP initiated this programme in 2005 with the goal of introducing new European films to North American buyers. Designed to take place two or three times per year, each session showcase four to six films from different European countries with commercial potential. World sales agents are on location and actively involved in the marketing strategy and presentation of the films. The screenings take place in June (in New York) and November (Los Angeles).
