EFP - European Film Promotion

Swiss Films

Established in the early seventies by Swiss filmmakers with the aim to provide professional support for the promotion of their films, Swiss Films, with office in Zurich and Geneva, offers services and consultant work.

It is a partner for Swiss producers and filmmakers in the development of promotional strategies for their films. It supports them in the executional phase and establishes the contacts to facilitate their distribution and sales efforts. As a center of information, it also advises international buyers and festival delegates, organises screenings and represents Swiss films internationally at festivals and markets.

In Switzerland, as well as providing information for the industry, Swiss Films actively lobbies for the political and economic support of the national independent cinema, and is responsible for the organisation of the national Swiss Film Prize and the Journée du Cinéma Suisse.

Swiss Films is dedicated to promoting Swiss Cinema and to consolidating commercial and cultural activities. The combination of cultural and distribution-oriented activities facilitates the concentrated implementation of resources and fosters a stronger presence of Swiss films at home and abroad.

Publications: Annual Swiss Films catalogue for Feature (fiction and documentary) and Swiss Shorts; Annual News Letter. Swiss Films is also editor of the film industry magazine Cine-Bulletin.

Swiss Films is one of the 10 Founding Members of EFP.

"There are so many good European films! The audience should be more adventurous and more curious to see them! That’s why all the joint promotion events organized by EFP are so important, we all benefit from the greater visibility of the films." Francine Brücher
