EYE Film Institute Netherlands

Holland Film was established in 1990 to market, promote and increase the worldwide visibility of films from the Netherlands. As of January 1, 2010 the Netherlands Filmmuseum, the Dutch Institute for Film Education, De Filmbank and Holland Film merged into EYE Film Institute Netherlands.

Holland Film strives to strengthen existing and new contacts with foreign distributors, international festivals, press, as well as with TV stations. Holland Film is present at many international film festivals and offers promotional assistance for producers and directors with films selected for presentation at international festivals. Holland Film takes part in film markets at Berlin, Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy and Hong Kong. Holland Film organises Dutch film weeks in close collaboration with foreign partners. All of the logistics for hundreds of films being screened around the world at festivals and other film events are handled by Holland Film.

Publications: The annual catalogue provides a survey of current Dutch filmmaking from features, documentaries, shorts and animation to experimental films. This catalogue is widely used by festival programmers, distributors and journalists. The Dutch Shorts is another catalogue that provides a special survey of over 80 short films and short animated films. E-newsletters are sent out regularly with information about the latest trends and developments in Dutch filmmaking.

At www.hollandfilm.nl you will find the latest news on filmmaking in the Netherlands and the Dutch film industry all year round.

Holland Film is one of the 10 Founding Members of EFP.

"EFP is still very important in helping to enhance the visibility of European Films and to facilitate access for the filmmakers at international markets. The  Film Sales Support program has become the best tool to make our films really cross borders.” Claudia Landsberger
