Czech Film Center

The Czech Film Center (CFC) was established in 2002 with the goal of systematically profiling contemporary Czech cinematography and the Czech film industry, primarily abroad. In 2003 the public benefit organization Czech Film Chamber (CFK), was established to ensure the Czech representation to the European MEDIA program. In 2004 the CFC came under the Czech Film Chamber. The Czech Film Center cooperates very closely with the Czech Ministry of Culture, and is currently almost exclusively financed from its funds. Structurally, the CFC is divided into Film Promotion, which is involved in the promotion of Czech films abroad, and the Film Commission, which provides services to incoming foreign film productions and promotes the Czech Republic as a shooting location.
The CFC's main activities include
INFORMATION – providing up-to-date information on the state of Czech cinematography and film industry
PROMOTION – the coordination of promotional activities at important international festivals and markets and in the framework of festivals in the Czech Republic
PUBLICATION – annual catalogues, DVDs, newsletters and other publications
NETWORKING – making and maintaining contacts in the area of the international film industry and the mediation of the necessary contacts to both Czech and foreign film professionals
The Czech Film Center has been an EFP member since 2002.
”A small and creative film industry, like the one we have in the Czech Republic, needs reliable and experienced partners. Over the past years, EFP, now with 30 member organizations, has proven to be one of the most effective networks for us.“ Jana Černík
