EFP at the Pusan International Film Festival
in South Korea

October 02-10, 2008

One of the brightest lights in the Asian festival scene, the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), celebrats its 13th edition in 2008. This annual event transforms the port city of Pusan into a vibrant film community, showing up to 300 films from over 60 different countries, many of them originating from Europe. EFP is proud to support the European film programme with various presentations of a delegation of European film artists to the Asian audiences, press representatives and film industry.

The parallel scheduled Asian Film Market,
(October 3-6, 2008) was launched in 2006. It brings together the Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP), the acclaimed international coproduction/market, and the Busan International Film Commission and Industry Showcase (BIFCOM). The Asian Film Market offers film business facilities, i.e. sales offices, market screenings, buyer and production services as well as advice on financing tools.

Since 1998, EFP has partnered with Pusan, and was pleased to introduce  Film Sales Support (FSS) to the festival in 2004. FSS encourages the promotion and sales of European films in the region by offering financial incentives to European sales agents whose European films are part of the festival. Located in the heart of the Asian Film Market, EFP provides an office to the FSS beneficiaries and the European film community for meetings and contact making.
