EFP at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival
Variety Critics’ Choice: Europe Now!
July 4-12, 2008

 The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czech Republic) is one of the most prominent and respected cinema events in Eastern Europe. EFP has joined in a unique partnership with the festival and with Variety Magazine in presenting Variety Critics’ Choice: Europe Now!, an official side-bar of 10 new European films by young directors. The films are selected by Variety critics in conjunction with EFP members and the festival, and are introduced to the press and public during the 2 day event.

Variety is EFP’s main partner regarding selection of films, presentation of directors and is the co-host of the European Reception.

Event activities

• Press Presentation of directors

• Czech Press Agent hired to handle press and interview requests

• Introduction of Europe Now! directors at their screenings

• Advertising campaign and on-line presentation of all participants

• European Reception in honour of the 10 selected directors
